I go with your principle Di, for this issue of shyness is normal be it on the part of client or the escort provider. For the side of clients, it takes time to get his full rythm especially if he is battling his mind, on the implications for himself, his family or anybody else relative to the activity since he is taking the risk, for this is only his hobby for himself. Except for the battle tested veterans in the enterprise, this is no longer an issue, again this is true to both the client and provider.

This explains why many hobbyists prefer this kind (escorts) for discreetness purposes at the time they need this type of pleasure.

Believe it or not, Nymph, I am always nervous and shy on the first meeting. Thats why my practice is to have a date before the session. I guess, many of us Hobbyists are shy. Maybe you have a unique way to interact with your clients that immediately their shyness evaporates and this is the reason you had not experienced one and thats nice. :-)

I have had clients like this also, even alot of hang ups and boys who have called my trying to set up a date and after lengthy chats after I have mentioned more then a few times that they sound really young they have admitted one way or the other to being underage and just wanted free phone sex or seeing if I would agree to meet a minor so watch out for that.
But for the most part you just need to seem very friendly, say a friendly Hello! and even add How are you!? in a friendly tone before they even answer back, that way they will feel like they are talking to someone who is easy going and friendly to chat with and knows shes in the escort business and not being forced and is very accepting because guys can be shy about calling a escort even if its not their first time since it is sort of taboo and not really accepted by society, and even if he can dial the number alot of them find it hard to speak and set up a date.
