Dani, I understand your feelings and I respect the reaction, but such an automatism of instilled pride is strange to me.
I like the question, what I would post, if Kitty attacked my country. By the way I often attack my country myself. If there is no criticism then there is no improvement. Well, my reaction would depend if she is right or wrong. Furthermore it depends on the intellectual quality of the attack. If she was right, I would agree with her.
