Thanks Paul, I didn't know that. I hope SC is doing something about it already or will do something soon. I have heard about a few lakes and/or rivers around SC having really bad bacteria in them. So, they would warn people on the news not to go swimming or be in the water at all at different times. I sure hope they do something soon about that too.

Are those bacterias so dangerous, even for swimmers?

Yes kotikkk, the bacteria they found was dangerous at the time and would make a person severely sick if they swim in it too. So, they warned people at the time to keep out of the water until they do something about it.

When I worked in Oakland Tilden lake was generally close twice a year do to the bacteria build up in it during the summer months. The most common bacteria was salomnilla and botchulism. The main culprit of these bacteria were the ducks and geese that swam an feed there. Their feeces created the diease and has killed a few people and hospatialize 100's. The city tried to blame me and my work crew because we were working in the old bores of the caldicot tunnels and the water run off was full of calicum and lime. As I pointed out to the city's chief inspector, I always made sue that the water run off from our job sites was channeled directly into the sewage lines and not water run off. Once the city health dept figured out what the problem was we were sent a letter of official appology and appreciation for our work and assistance.

Paul, that's very good that they found out the cause of the contamination in the lake; and that the officials gave an official apology too. Yeah, the contamination in a few lakes and rivers in SC was caused by salmonella and a coupe other bacterias as well. Mostly from people that swim in the water and use the bathroom in the water which I think is so gross. I am glad that they warned us all here of all that; and are going to be cleaning up the lakes and rivers soon.

You're right about it not being convenient Letusdoit. Sometimes, states wait until something drastic happens until they will do something about the situation. I know that nothing was done or said about keeping and getting lakes,rivers,and water ways in SC cleaned until after they finally did tests of the water after one or a few people got sick. By the way, the people that got sick are ok now. They got antibiotics to help them thankfully. Now, SC is starting to get some better at getting things done to keep most of the lakes,rivers,and water ways clean.

Be sure, 12pleaseu, your state government are very conscientious, if they started to clean lakes and rivers massively only because of several people got sick, not even died. God bless those guys.

Thank you kotikkk. Yes, the state government is in the process of cleaning the rivers and lakes. There were a few rivers just lately that they told everyone to stay away from since they are in the process of cleaning them. Noone has died from the rivers and lakes being contaminated thankfully. There were a few sick; but they got treatment from the doctors. So, they're ok now. Meanwhile the state is cleaning up the rivers and lakes.

Maybe those guys are conscientious but no doubt that they are inertious, as same as most of officials in different countries of our world. The officials often prefer not to be active until the crisis comes.
