A Swiss company has invented an underwater car - and it’s a convertible. Costing around £750,000 to build, the Rinspeed sQuba concept car was inspired by James Bond’s The Spy Who Loved Me. The sQuba is a road-worthy car that, at the touch of a button, can transform into an amphibious vehicle. It is capable of diving to a depth of about 33 feet. When on the water, it is propelled by two propellers, while two powerful jets propel the vehicle underwater.

I want one of these! Don't know where I would drive it underwater though. All we have are glacier-fed, mountain lakes. Not a good match for a convertible underwater car!

As for me 33 feet is not enough for really cool underwater car :)

In fact I am interested more in aeromobiles. There's more freedom though most of the Earth surface is covered by waters.

Very beautiful car! But there is only pity that it is an open cabriolet.

Oh James, it is really wet! :))))))lol

Lol! 8)))
I like aeromobiles too but most of them are quite not perfect vehicles.
I like the design of this submarine car. But it is really pity that it hasn't a dry cockpit. I know that it would be too difficult to make the cab fully hermetic but to wear a special suit seems too unconvenient!

Yes, many engineers say that flying cars are bad aircrafts and also bad cars. They are still right in fact :(

The hermetic cab would be very complicated not only because the difficulties with hermetisation but also because of great underwater pressure. This would made the car not enough safe and too expensive.

Not ehough?!!! It isn't the word. I'm sure it would make it as dangerous as a manned torpedo!

Mm, manned torpedos had very safe cockpits.
Otherwise the operators would drown too soon! :DDD

Yes, it's a pity that they made no real cab :(

So this car is not for James Bond!

How can you imagine him getting out like a milksop, lol))))
IT is so wet, oh yess, but James Bond must not be wet anyway. It seems not to become him!
