I'd like to know how many of you are, really, interested in the political situation of the world.

Warren and I have been having quite an discussion on politics and I would like to get more imput from the rest of you.

I'm interested but jaded ; ) We have no real say in our current political situation...Bush and Kerry are related and both "Skull & Bones" members, we are suppose to believe it's coincidence that Cheney and Obama are related (yet they all tie into the royal families of Europe)... Our money has no real value and is just a control system created out of thin air by a private bank. Terrorist threats are created, or at least blown out of proportion, to tighten control and take away more freedom. Our "religious" institutions are just propaganda machines to keep the "sheep" in line...and if you dare say what this country really needs you would be considered a treasonous terrorist bent on the destruction of America or a crazy conspiracy therorist. To quote "the Mole" from the "South Park" movie, "Land of the Free indeed"

Actually, the Constitution states that the people have the right to over throw the govt if it is not responsive to the needs of the people.

Of course the PTB would never let that happen.

After WWI the veterans built a shanty city on the out skirts of the city to protest the fact that they were not recieving the benifits they were promised for fighting the war. Hence the establishment of the Veterans Administration, now called Veteran's Affairs. The govt went in and burned then bulldozed the town but, they paid up.

With the shit and maltreatment of the vets from Somalia, the Balkans, Afganistan and the Gulf I wouldn't be suprised to see something like this happen again. These men and women have lost their homes and jobs because they were called to active duty and have been required to serve longer than the law states they were required to serve.

Congress has not increased Veteran's benifits since 1956. In 1976 the govt past the Cost Of Living Adjustment to stop the Vietvets from leading a revolt. At the time Congress was only paid $25,000 a year now, the recieve $175,000 and the Veterans only recieve a yearly COLA. We were talking about armed revolution and over throwing the govt and had FBI informants, aggitators and spies amoungst us and the FBI was taking pictures of every vet who demonstrated against the war and the govt.

As a 100% service connected diabled vet our benifits were only $689.00 a month. That rate has not increased. Congress keeps talking about passing "The Wounded Veteran's Act" but have still done nothing about it. They want to increase their pay and give themselves an additonal 77 days of recess a year.

They people we need to vote out of office are the career Congressmen and Women and our career Senators. They're the ones in the pockets of special interest groups and have been and will be until we vote them out.

I'm familar with the story of the "bonus army", and thank you for discussing a little known chapter in American history!!! My hubby (I keep the fact that I'm married kinda quiet...you know for business reasons...so hopefully nobody holds it against me) is a disabled vet from the first gulf war. I don't have proof, but I think VA is trying to kill and/or drug our vets into complacency. When my hubby's health hit an all time low a few years back, they put him on an insane combination of drugs that made him suicidal and psychotic. I think the only thing that saved him was the fact that he didn't drink...but if he was an alcoholic (like most vets are...according to statistics) I don't think he would have made it. Since then he has avoided the VA system and has been sticking with natural and "alternative" medicine...and has been doing great. I've also heard similar stories from other vets. The number of deaths and illnesses among vets from the first gulf war are staggering and will shock you if you do the research. (http://www.beyondtreason.com/ is a good place to start)

Besides drugging vets, look at the percentage of kids they're drugging for ADHD and young adults for anti-depression...of course people are depressed...things are f***ed up!!! But the point is they are drugging as many people that could be a threat to the statis quo as possible!!! Of course most of the population are just sheep...just the way the PTB want them.

Tell you husband I said, "Welcome home, Brother." I know I sure as hell didn't get that when I got back and I make sure every vet who served over seas hears it from me. It is and honor and a privilige to know the he is a vet. Tell him, I said so. If he ever needs to talk to someone who knows what it's like, have him send me an email and I'll respond on my private email. I've been talking to a lot of younger vets, somthing the WWII vets didn't do with us. They kept their feelings and anger, aganinst the govt, bottled up inside. We need to let the govt know we aren't going to take their shit.
If they want a war, send their children and family members FIRST. They and big business are the ones who profit from our pain and death, let them pay for it.

I know what you mean about the VA drugging vets. As soon as I went to the VA they stared me on drugs. They didn't have a diaginosis of PTSD then so, we had to recieve psychartic treatment. In order to deny us service connection for our psychological injuries we had to be diaginosed as being psychotic and we were all labled as being nurotic. Good way to deny benifits and treatment.

I was hospitalized for mental problems many times but until they admited PTSD the only treatment we recieved were drugs. Melaril, Thorazine and other shit that would knock an elephant out and they kept us on them for years. Thankfully, at least some of that has changed.

After I was hit by I drunk driver I was awarded a 100% service connected disability for PTSD. Not by the VA but by the State. My treating physician rated me at 100% totally disabled due to the PTSD from the accident in 1991, right after the 1st Gulf War started. It fucked a lot of Vietvets up and now, to watch what the politicians and the govt is doing to my younger brothers and sisters in arms just pisses me off. And, I'm not the person anyone wants to be around when I'm pissed! All the anger that I've been able to keep under control these years rears it's deadly head and I'm on the verge of being out of control. Thank God, I found AA.

Yeah, and the VA loves to say that vets are self medicating from booze and drugs. What the hell do they expect, they deny us treatment.

I had a good friend who fought for years for service connection due to Agent Orange and the VA denied it until he was diagnoises with lymphatic cancer due to Agent Orange. He died 2 months later.

We have a lot of people to blame for the shit that vets endure but, maily its our elected represenatives for denying us the medical treatment and benifits that, we the taxpayer and defenders of this country have paid for. They forget and so do the people: They serve at our convience.

Fuck them, vote them out of office. It may be time for a second "Bonus Army", if it's the only way to get them to listen. I was at the 10yr aniversery of the Wall in D.C. when Al Gore made his appearance, he recieved a "polite" appaluse but when May Ling, the designer of the wall the audiance erupted and she had to wait until WE quited down before she spoke. She said, "I am much to honored by all of you Veterans, I only designed this Memorial. It is you men and women who fought and died for our country that have made it the Memorial that it is". There wasn't a dry eye to be seen.

I know that, I, and many other vets were pissed when an Asian woman won the award to design the Wall but, there could have been no better choice. Hopefully, there will be one to honor the men and women of your husband's service.

One vote may not count in the presidental election, that's because of the lousy electorial college. But, one vote can decied who will be our congress person or senator so, please vote and kick the SOB's out of office.

It's the only way they'll listen to us. Oh, yeah, John McCain is an asshole. I went to one of his rallies, was in the front row wearing my Big Red 1 hat and asked him to sign it. He skipped me over to sign a copy of his book that some one had bought. He's another rich kid who served in the military, just like Bush senior and Bush the idiot.

Not only vets alcoholic they're a large number of the prison population due mainly to the fact that they are denied treatment. Although, I poltically hated Richard Nixon, he was the one who establilsh the Free Drug Treatment centers due to the number of vets who were returning with drug and alcohol problem. The great fornicator, Bill Clinton abolished those treatment programs. So I guess Bill did a lot more than not inhaleing. He was probally a glue sniffer or huffer.

I love how if we object to the war, Bush says that we are not supporting our troops. However on the other hand, he is cutting benefits for vets.

Bush isn't cutting the benifits for our troops or denying them treatment. The funding for medical, pay and everthing else is under the control of Congress.
If you want to be mad at some one be mad at Congress. They want to stay in office and pay our soldiers nothing. Congress is, also, in control of Veteran's Hospitals and Vet's Disablility benifits. They are responsible for the deplorable conditions of the hospitals and treatment but they blamed the militay and VA doctors. Well, with out funding there is not treatment.
When I was inducted into the Army I was paid $89.00 a month. The Congress recieved $25,000 a year. Who is fucking whom?
That's why I keep saying vote out the career politicians.
I have a friend whose brother is a career politician. I, once, over heard him saying, "Of course we feather our nest's. No one else is going to do it."
They don't give a shit about anyone except themselves.

When bush says, we are not supporting our troops he is refering to the morale of the troops. You can not imagine what it feels like to be a pawn in a political game when you are risking your life.
When I got back, I wanted to dig a hole to the center of the earth, pack it full of explosives and blow the planet up.
I protested the war while I was in Vietnam on moral grounds. Congress was running the war and was sacraficing us for no reason. They wouldn't let us win. That's how the troops feel today.
The more bull shit that appears in the papers the lower moral gets.
