I'm sure there are some victims out there, however I am not one of them. I do this because I want to, as a part time thing in addition to my full time job. I dont think it is fair to label every escort or other worker in this industry as a exploited helpless being. As far as the minor girl listed in this article if she was forced into it I hope they shoot the SOB responsible. Otherwise we all make choices in life.

I had read the previous topic about detecting law enforcement and thought this gave some better details about how the stings are being conducted. YES they are posing as both providers and clients. YES they are posting pictures online. However, notice that each time upon meeting sex and money is DISCUSSED OPENLY and that 2 men were sent away when they stated they were only there for massages. I'm sure that wasnt the truth they were just smart enough to think on their feet.

Any other input or advice others can post I'm sure we will all appreciate and take the opportunity to learn from!

I saw an sp one time and she brought nude pictures of herself and sold them to me. The rest of our time was for me. I don't know how that would go over in court but, I paid for the pictures, not the sex.

Hey Paul,

Wow that is a good idea! That sounds like a winner to me. If you agreed to pay for the nude pics then that is pretty much legal. Whatever else you do is not considered to be paid for.
I love that idea!!!

I tell my clients that they're paying for my time and companionship, not sex. I'm only selling an amount of time to spend with them, chatting, watching TV or whatever. I do make it known that I love to perform Fellatio and if I feel so inclined I might want to Fellatiate them for my own pleasure.

This is a situation in which LE poses as either a provider or a client in order to lure the other and arrest them.

There are practical and legal limits (and "moral" ones too) to how far they can go. Cases have been thrown out of court because the officers actually had sex with the ladies before arresting them; understandably, this did not go over very well with the public--"You're using our tax money to get laid?", etc.

Usually, a claim of "entrapment," in which it can be argued that a crime would not have taken place at all without LE activity, is a valid defence.

It is important to keep in mind, however, that in most jurisdictions, officers are allowed to lie in order to lure people. You cannot trust that a person is not a cop by simply asking them, "Are you a cop?", or even the more strict, "Are you in any way affiliated with any law enforcement agency?" They can and do lie, and it usually holds up in court.

Where prostitution is illegal, people can usually be arrested for merely *agreeing* to engage in a sex act for money, so many providers are very careful not to discuss details of what will happen on a date, especially over the phone.

[Note: In all discussions of laws and legality, it is important to take into account the jurisdiction involved, as laws differ, sometimes radically, from country to country and state/province to state/province.]

daka1 I think you explained what a sting was very well. It is very important that everyone be very careful when setting up appointments. I have heard that the cops are now using the information posted in ads to hold against providers in court, that is one reason I do not show my identity in any of my ads. They can't prove it is me that way.
