Forum - Web site scamers

I read a news report on abc news.com about how scamers are using fake us govt e-mails saying they are from the IRS to get you financial info from unsuspecting people. I'd list the web site but these things are only posted for a few days.
Be wary of e-mails with extra pull down tabs on them and check them for their authenticity. The IRS contacts you by mail and they already know about your finances.

This scam is called 419 Fraud. It is men going to dating sites and avon sites and now escort sites.
He says he wants to book an all night and that he would like it if he could send a certified cheque (it's not). Then he will ask you to take your fee and send the rest to a *travel agent*. SCAM they are fake cheques and even though your bank will cash them (even after it being in there for 10 days) the cheques do come back and then you are out the extra, the cheques are in the $5000.00. The secret service is involved - if it's too good to be true it usually is.

The world of scams. Who is not trying to come up with one. Scams are the reason why we are loosing freedoms and rights. You always have to watch your back. Ugh No big deal.

Some scammer contacted me that he is a New York cop. Another said that he works for INS and tried to blackmail me. It is so obvious.
They are not even considering that I'm not in the US and they have no jurisdiction here. Some other guy emailed me that he will pay hundreds of dollars for me to take his naked photos. Bola bola.

There are now TV ads warning of these scams on the internet. It is good to see that TV is actually doing some good.
