On the day of my birth, January 15,1979, the second biggest blizzard hit the Chicago area. Was it trying to tell me something? I will let you draw your own conclusion. An event happened when I was in 5th grade that changed me. It was a Sunday in October. Dad, my little sister, Kathy, and I were in our backyard. I was in cub scouts and would be going on a camping trip. Dad had wanted to see how hard it would be to set up this tent. I was keeping my three-year-old sister, busy. We were running all over the yard playing with string art. Kathy fell, I tripped over her anf broke my hip. The doctor never had a boy this young with this problem, it is a very common football injury. There were four huge bolts put in my hip. Later, we named this my Bo Jackson fall, I did the same as he did, I just did not need a new hip. I couldn't walk for a year and a half. I was very bored. Mom ended up giving me a pad of paper, markers, and crayons, and told me to draw. It is the reason I ever started drawing. I have everything and you can see improvement over the years. Later, after I was walking again, I had to have another operation to remove the four bolts. The doctor said that because I was still growing, the bolts had to come out. Then I spent another year on crutches and in a wheelchair. I was also warned by the doctor that this could happen on the left leg. I can't play any sports, ever. But that is okay, I was never interested anyway. By this time I loved drawing. I went on to make up my own comics. I started entering drawing contests. I won one for drawing Sonic The Hedgehog. The best thing about that was my work was published and I was only 16. I have won a few since. No money prizes yet. Mostly subscriptions to the various magazines. I am majoring in art, but I have also thought of getting a teaching degree. I may also Go for a Web Design dergee . I have had five of my works displayed in the gallery. I will be entering two more works September 15. I am also taking Watercolor painting class, 6 Multimedia classes, and a math class If I had to list my hobbies, on the top would be drawing or painting. I spend alot of my time on my work. I love comics and doing cartoon characters. I even have some that I make up and just as soon as I can find out how to copywrite them, I will. I am more of an abstract artist, though I am working on realism. And since I found out that Paul Cezanne, at first was not considered good at drawing, I am in good company. Since I did my Bo Jackson action, I also love video games. I really like games that I can get to the end of. To me that is the challenge. I also have collections of comics,anime, shot glasses, salt and pepper shakers, how-to-draw books, stampers, and trains or things related to trains. I have an average family, Mom, Dad, and one younger sister, and dog, Tony. I still live at home. Another notable thing here is our dog. Tony is a Poodle-Rottweiler. Picture a black Rottweiler with Poodle hair. Maybe that describes me, different.
